Job description

Bitprop is looking for international interns to join our team! This is a great opportunity if you are looking for an internship to do as part of your studies or during your summer holidays and are able to travel to Cape Town. You would need to spend a minimum of 6 weeks in Cape Town working full-time in-person with the Bitprop team. Thereafter, you will have the opportunity to continue remotely with the internship part-time from your home country where you’ll be able to continue with the projects you started on in Cape Town, as well as acting as a connection between Bitprop and stakeholders in your country. This will be flexible and designed to fit in with your studies.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with members of the Bitprop team on various parts of the business’s operations
  • Manage or participate on projects in company-wide or area-specific topics
  • Assume responsibility for some or all project deliverables
  • Report on and present project results
  • Conduct market research (desk and field research) on topics such as ‘the environmental impact of unregulated backyard developments in Cape Town’
  • Collaborate with other interns and the Bitprop team to solve problems and implement new systems, strategies and campaigns

Qualifications and experience required

  • Student or recent graduate in a field relevant to Bitprop (business/marketing/architecture/construction/project management/finance etc.)
  • Good communication skills
  • Very organised and have a high capacity for administration
  • Ability to manage multiple schedules and tasks at once
  • Able to think on the spot and make informed decisions without consultation when required
  • Self-driven and comfortable in a high-paced but flexible work environment  
  • Able to travel to Cape Town for a minimum of 8 weeks at the beginning of the internship
  • Available to work full-time while in Cape Town and part-time remotely if internship is extended
